losing front fork air pressure
Hay, set the air pressure in my 1980 gs1100e to 25psi and checked it a couple hours later and it seemed to have dropped. I don't see signs of leakage but could this mean my fork seals are bad? thanksTags: None

25 psi is too high You are right if it will not hold air you probably need new seals Just make sure the valves are not leaking, that the center core is tight

Your forks are supposed to handle up to 30psi, according to the manual. They come stock with 2.5 psi, if you have weak seals, higher pressure will kill them. For me the only way I could get the front end firm enough was to run 20psi. The best alternative is progressive springs.

Thanks Luke, I'm planning on replacing the front springs and seals this winter. Thanks for the help.
