    1985 gs700es vin plate removal

I would like have the frame of my bike sandblasted and powder coated, is their a way to remove the vin plate as not to destroy it and place it back on the frame afterwards.
    Thanks Lee

Not that I'm aware of - although if you remove the "sticker" portion, you will still have the VIN stamped in the neck. 8)

VIN plates are normally aluminium and are rivetted on , you just drill out the rivet heads, and re-rivet it back on when done.

If it is hard to get off, just cover it with duct tape to protect it, also tell the blaster not to hit that area and then once you get it back, use paint stripper to remove the paint from that area.
