GS850 problems: cylinders dying one by one.
I was riding to work the other morning and I could hear the engine go from 4 cylinders to 3 to 2 to 1 and then it shut off. After a few minutes it would start back up. It did this one other time in the morning. It was a cold ride both times (in the 40s), any ideas on what I could do?Tags: None

Does it fire right up or do you have to crank it??? If it starts right up suspect ign problem If you have to crank it fuel problem

It always starts right up. I usually never have problems with it. Only those two cold mornings. I let it set for a minute or two, and then it started right up. The second time it happened I could still feel the cylinders misfiring. I've read that it's unlikely that both coils would fail at the same time though.

Could this happen if the bike is running too lean and the sparkplugs overheat?
The same thing happens to my bike after about 30 mintues of riding with these new mufflers on. I know it's running lean. But till the new exhaust comes in the mail....
