    Thank you GS Resources!

Just wanted to thank those of you who have shared knowledge on this forum over the years- and those who made/make it all possible. I have been lurking, and have been working (occasionally) on getting my GS1000C running for the last couple years. (Here in Washington I only get the urge for the two months the sun shines)

I couldn't have done it without your help-

When I got the bike the carbs were over-flowing when the tank was filled. The day after I pulled the carbs I found this site and discovered the petcock was a likely culprit. I 'cleaned' the carbs and re-installed, and rebuilt the petcock. Carbs still leaked, bike wouldn't run. That was last summer.

This spring I tried again. Poured over the archives on this site for hours. I installed kits in the carbs using any info I could find here. I was able to get the o-rings for the VM26 from Robert Barr (his 2nd set I'm told). I adjusted the carbs to the initial settings I found on this site. I replaced the petcock with a new one.

With the help of a new battery, tonight at 6:20 Pacific, the bike roared to life. FINALLY! I'm sure the carbs still need some adjustment and the synch checked, but I'm Stoked!

Again, I couldn't have done it without this site, and I wasn't willing to pay someone to do it for me. I have lots more work to do and this site (and the factory manual and parts fiche on CD) will get me there. I am sending a check to support this site, it's the least I can do.

    So, for short, THANK YOU!

    Scott

Glad you found help here. Supporting the site is a great way to show your appreciation. That's what I did. I had a problem with the charging system that was fixed by what I learned here. Who knows how much time and money I might have spent? That was quite awhile ago but I still support the site and I enjoy trying to help others and sharing experiences.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!
