read from another post, about proper part numbers for the pingle, hope it turns out to be the right one.

Bought the leather off ebay while back, fairly cheap and easy to get from there. Had planned to use it for a different project, don't even remember what that was now.

the petcock and adapter is 68 from schnitzer racing. overpriced in my opinion for a simple valve. should be more like 10.

I took apart the wiring in the rear turn signals and can't seem to get them to work properly now, left side won't flash (killed the relay?). Are all the turn signals suppposed to light up durring operation, or be off?

Check your grounds. I've had a few electrical problems and most of them have been bad grounds.

My blinkers remain off unless they are blinking for a turn, but all I have is a little 450.

Get a new air filter if you haven't already. This could be why the bike is surging (running lean).
It looks like its pretty much stock.
          It is an '80 model.
The petcock is supposed to look like that (its a stupid little thing).
          It is a five speed.
I would suggest changing the oil and filter within the next 500 miles again and then you can go 1500-2000 miles between changes.
There is not a stock fuel filter on this bike, if you have one fitted then it is aftermarket. That also may be starving your carbs of fuel.
Buy a can of Aircraft paint stripper and get some color back.... 8)

          Good luck

                New paint, pingel, fuel lines

Stripped the paint off the tank, and clear coated it.
Installed pingel. Still think the little bastard is ridiculously overpriced. Should have just refurbed my original.
and repainted the rest of the bike black.
                here are some pics.
