    Speedomter bounce

I am having a problem with my speedometer bouncing +/- 5mph after I get past 55mph. I have already replaced the speedometer cable. Any ideas? I have thought about another speedometer, but they don't make them any more for my 1982 GS750TZ.

Whenever I have this problem, I thoroughly lube the cable with a graphite cable lubricant. This has always worked for me. Don't neglect the tach cable, either. I've actually had more trouble with them.

Yes it's typically a cable problem. Check your lube and cable routing.

It could be a problem with the speedo drive on the wheel. Where the cable attaches to the drive unit! ON the inner part there is a fitting that can be unscrewed. You can then wash it out and re grease it.
