A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have to replace the head on my 82 gs750TZ and was wonderiing if anyone knew what years I can use without making mods.

Thanks in advance,

80-82 I know will fit and I think all of the GS series 4v 750 heads will fit If you use the complete head. WHAT is wrong with yours?? Ihave a 81, but it has some broken fins If you need parts?

I would doubt an 83-and up head would fit, they changed to the TSCC design, and they look completly different.

I believe mine is the TSCC Design, according to the manual anyways. The problem with mine is that one of the cam braces (cant think of the right name), the clamps that hold the cam in place, broke and the vibration caused the cam to wear away the part of the head in which it rests. It looks to me like it would be a waste of time to replace the exhaust cam (which is toast) because the head has been worn away.

How exactly do I tell if it is a TSCC design, the manual I have isnt really clear and this is my first motorcycle engine that isnt a V-Twin.

I use this bike as a commuter, even though it is in great shape. Any head that will work and is functional is fine with me.

The 1980 (in the U.S.) GS750 was the first model with the TSCC head. But I do agree that the 83 and later motors were a new design and probably will not fit. They are a more compact design.

The TSCC is a by product of the use of twin valves so you can pretty much say that the 16 valve head uses the TSCC also it might say so on the cam cover.
