    Placement of RR ground?

I am in the process of replacing my original Suzuki RR with the Electrex model -- the bike is filleted in my driveway while I dash to the hardware store for longer screws (the Electrex is thicker than stock).

One quick question: the ground wire had been connected to the screw that held the RR on to the bike. Would it be better to connect it elsewhere -- say, to the main frame, instead of to the battery cage -- if I can get the wire to reach? It doesn't look like it will reach the battery ground.

    Thanks!

Extend it so it will reach the battery then, it's the best solution really.

Leave the original ground connection hooked up. Add another ground from the other mounting bolt direct to the battery (-) Use 10-12 ga wire

        Ground placement

Not trusting my soldering ability, and thinking that an in-line splice might not wear that well, I went for SqDancerLynn's suggestion. Thanks to you both!

FYI: finished installing the stator and RR. IT LIVES!

I ran mine as all one wire from the RR/s ground mount, to the battery (-), from that to the engine case. All one cable with no spliting.
