    Too much oil pressure??

I rebuilt my 83 GS1100 ESD and added the 750 oil pump gears from APE. I now have a small, but noticable leak from the right side crank seal. Could I now have too much oil pressure for the seal?? Has anyone else had this problem. I am pretty sure that we did not damage the seal when it was put in. Thanks for your input.

The seal is not under direct oil pressure So no high oil pressure will not do it. Too much crankcase pressure can cause the seals to leak. Sometime additional crank case venting is necessary on a preformance motor

Could be a bad seal too!

Did you lube the seals sealing lip before assembly?

Yes, the seal lip wqas lubricated. It may well be a bad seal, but I now have a far bigger problem. See "BIG PROBLEM"

Changing the gears provides more volume, not more oil pressure.

When talking to the boys a APE, they stated that the oil pressure would in fact almost double with their gears.
