Crankshaft Question?
I was wondering does #1 and #4 piston fire at the same time? and the same with #2 and #3, I took off the head of my sick running GS1100 and noticed #1 piston is about 3/4 of a inch lower in the hole than #4, its flush with cylinder, the crank is set on TDC on the ignition side (T), my question is, is my crankshaft twisted??? Its not welded.......Thanks :?Tags: None

That sounds bad. #1 and #4 fire at the same time so they should be flush with the top of the block at the same time. Same goes for #2 and #3.

focus frenzy
they do not fire at the same time, they do rise and fall together but they fire 360 degrees apart
the firing order is 1,2,4,3
when 1 fires, 4 is at top dead center finishing the exhaust stroke and starting the intake stroke.
your crank is twisted!!
have you been racing? and over revved it?

There is a wasted spark that does not do anything on one of the cylinders as it on the exhaust stroke.
