Exhaust system for 1982 GS1100G

I will some day soon need a replacement pipes and mufflers for this good old bike. I see many V&N and supertrap systems on ebay that were on GS1100E bikes. I am wondering if they will fit without major metalwork. I'd like to keep the centerstand too. So if anyoone has gone this route and knows it works - or it doesn't - please tell what you know.

Also, if you know where I can find good stock or aftermarket pipes please let me know.

The DennisKirk catalog still lists the Street V&H 4/1 pipe for GS1100G The part #s between the 1100G &1100E are different. I don't know what the difference is. The drag pipes are the same PN $284.99

Hi Ron,

I have an '82 1100G that I'm going to part out ... I'll have to check the condition of the stock pipes, but as I recall they're in basically good shape for their age.

PM me if you have an interest in them, and what you'd be willing to pay ... they'll wind up on Ebay otherwise.
