Worn Drain Plug
I tried changing my oil on my bike and stupidly wear out the threads on the drain plug and now it is leaking. How can I fix this without geting a new engine?Tags: None

Mine has a piece of thick plastic over the threads..It acts as a large o-ring to keep it from leaking......much....i too am looking for a new one...

Are you guys all gorillaz?? I ask this because of all the bikes I have owned and I change my own plugs and oil, I have never ever stripped a drain plug or spark plug hole. Leave the torque to the engine. 8O

The easiest way to fix it is to use an oversized SELF tapping plug
motormite #65217 is the one to use

Some oil plug threads are the same as spark plugs. I cannot remember if Suzukis are or not. It's a cheap fix if they are.

I have done the oversized plug thing. I got mine from NAPA for four bucks or something. My original plug was a M14-1.25 pitch. My replacement is a oversize M14-1.5 pitch. Works fine except that you will need to add a new gasket or crush washer or something to prevent leaks after putting the new plug in.
