    Weird RPM rev up.......

When going to park my '81 GS450L and I turn the handlebars to the left or the right to back into a space the RPM's jump way up to approx. 3000. Can anyone explain why this weird rev up occurs and how to correct the problem.

I recently yanked the carbs and cleaned them but everything else is working perfectly.

    Thanks

    Throttle cable

    MM,
Your throttle cable is too tight sounds like to me. Check the free play in the cable. I think you have CV carbs so it won't be the cables going into the slides out of alignment. Also, make sure the cable is properly seated in the groove on the carb end. Bob
