        ================================================
        Guys, had this same occasional headlight/tailight indicator lamp flickering on a 1100E for a couple years. Pretty much ignored it just like you all are mentioning.

        Today lights came on and stayed on. Checked battery with meter while running. Am not getting any charging. Anyone else noticed if this has affected your charging?

        Cleaned all connectors/grounds I could find in battery area/regulator area, and inside headlight shell. Ran separate ground to regulator. Still nothing.

        Will also check the brakelight switch tomorrow.

        If anybody else comes up with something, would you please chime in.

        This surely must be something like a bad connector or failing ground don't you think?

        ================================================== ====

        ...bit of an update for anyone interested...

        dash indicator lights -

        - cleaning brakelight switch had no effect
        - cleaning 6 pin connector (top one in photo) had no apparent effect

        - wiggling wires right at black module DID effect flickering of brakelight indicator. DID NOT effect headlight indicator light(stays on). Cleaned the connectors (2).

        Charging problem -

        Took me over an hour to get rec/reg connector separated (2nd photo)

        Corroded and "melted" together. I've apparently suffered the dreaded rec/reg failure. Using the pin-to-pin resistance test in the manual does not give the results they say you should get.

        What is the current thinking on replacement of rec/reg? What's the correct way to go?

        Awful peculiar that I suffer the "dash indicator lights" problem and apparent "rec/reg failure" at the same time. For the 1st time I'm feeling the "Suzuki electrical frustration" I have seen so many others mention.
        Thanks for any advice on the rec/reg solution.

        Dave

          That RR connector dont look too bad. Look at what mine did..... Chop off that POS plastic connector and get some good individual connectors. Contact Duane and get a honda RR from him. I still think the flickering dash lights are caused by a bad module.
