Buying a New Stator: Ricks Vs. Electrex
Before I go to BikeBandit for an Electrex stator, I see I can get a "Ricks" brand stator for my GS1150 from Dennis Kirk, a little cheaper at $132.99. I like the shipping and service from Dennis Kirk, what I'm wondering about is quality - does anybody know anything about Ricks brand? Should I just fork over the extra $$$ for Electrex?Tags: None

I called Electrex and they said that Ricks is a good brand. When they can't meet a customer's need, they recommend Ricks. I accidentally ordered two Electrex G2 parts, though. I would sell you the one that's still sealed in the box for the Ricks price plus shipping.

I have a friend that put a Ricks stator and regulator on his GS1000 and has had no trouble with it in the last year and a half.

I had bad luck with 2 after market stators and one R/R. Bit the bullet and went back to Genuine Suzuki Parts. No problems since. The after market parts were NOT Electrex. Oh yeah, added backup ground connections too.
