    Head Gasket Gs1000

Got any suggestions on the best approach on head gasket replacement.... its pouring out oil from the centre where cam runs...is this a major job worth paying someone for or could it be done by a amature.

Depends on your skill level, have you ever adjusted your valves yourselves? On a scale of 1 to 5, I rate this one a 3. Also a good time to clean your valves up and put in new valve seals while your at it.

clean the motor realy good. if its leaking from the front it may be the tack cable. from the back mite be the cam chain adjuster. the fix may be simpler than you think.

You need to replace the big rectangular O-ring too, not just the head gasket. This is the perfect time to clean the combustion chambers and valves and replace the valve seals. You need a good valve removal tool and it would be best to have someone with experience help you.

It could be just the cam cover that is leaking You need to clean it real good to see where it is leaking
