    GS750 exhaust

    Howdy folks,

I have an '84 GS750E, the thing came with a 4-to-1 exhaust thats about to die (maybe reparable... gonna try).

    Anyway... to my question...
I know many models and sizes are based off the same parts, and was wondering if anyone could tell me if an '81 GS650 exhaust would fit my bike (as said before an '84 GS750). I'm hoping so, to get it back to stock.

    Thanks a million,
    Dean.

I don't think the 650 exhaust will work. The 650 is based on the 550 engine family, very different from the 750 you have. Be patient & look for a used exhaust for your specific bike. If you want to figure out if parts interchange, try looking around this site http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm
It's a great resource for answers to this type of questions.

    Good luck hunting
    Terry

Thanks, I was wondering where the engine family lines were drawn...

That particular model uses an exhaust unique to that bike. Look for an exhaust from a 1983-1986 GS750/700. The '86-'88 GSXR750 engine has the same size holes and spacing for the header, but the Gixxer pipe is an extremely tight fit under the GS engine. I know a fellow who has one of those exhausts mounted on an '83, and he has to remove the exhaust in order to change the oil.

        Good luck.
