Front Fork Question
I have a deep gouge in my left front fork tube that has damaged my seal. Dose anyone have an easy way to fix it. Any ideas will be helpful.Tags: None

Re[;ace the tube , simple as that! Your other choice is to have it welded , milled , re- hardchromed etc. Guess which will be cheaper and less hassle?

You have to call -- no internet orders -- but their knowledge and inventory are vast. They are the only aftermarket supplier of fork tubes, and by all accounts, they are fantastic quality and reasonably priced.
Last time I checked, they wouldn't accept credit cards, but that might have changed.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

If you are cheap like me (I've never tried this, but I have heard of others doing it), fill in the gouge with JB cold weld. Wait for it to dry, and sand it away CAREFULLY until it meets flush with the rest of the tube.

Look on e-bay, I think there are a few entire front ends for sale right now.Currently bikeless
