GS1100 Exhaust on GS1000?

GS1100 exhuast will work on a GS1000.

I put a 4 into 1 off a "78" GS 1000 on an "80" GS 1100 E. It bolted right up to the head, but the pipe stuck out about 5 or 6 in. at the back where the back was to bolt up. Really looked funny going down the road and no ground clearence on the right side. The same pipe fit perfect on the 1000 that it came off of

Hmmm... knowing this, I wonder if a GS1100 pipe would interfere with the frame or similar on a GS1000... anybody know about the fit with the rest of the bike?

Good to know the pipes fit the head - I figured that the two engines probably share the same block.

BTW, my bike is a '79 GS1000E...

on a similar note any ideas about a 1100 super trap header and megaphone on a 1000.

are you guys saying the 1100 and 1000 have the same exhaust port spacing?
