Old fuel stabilizer still good?

It's that time of year again

I have a bottle of Sta-bil brand fuel stabilizer that's three or four years old. Wondering if it's still good to use or if I should get rid of it and buy a fresh bottle...

I have no idea how long fuel stabilizer lasts. But, since it only costs a few $$, then I would play it safe and buy new stuff.

Sta-Bil will last 2 years from the date you open it.

Just get some new if it's 3 or 4 years old.

Feed it to your lawnmower and get a new bottle of Sta-Bil!

Or does anyone make gas preservative preservative?

I've used the old Briggs or Tecumseh to get rid of many suspect hydrocarbons over the years.

I was looking at the Motormaster gas stabilizer at crappy tire and it stated on the label something to the effect that it breaks down and becomes inert after 6 months, which, coincidentally is how long the winter lasts here.

I've used 2 year old Sta-bil no problem, worked fine. And then there's some really smooth 10 year old stuff...
