I'm gonna assume its the carbs

I recently got all new electrical parts for my GS 400 (77). New RR and ignition coils. I timed it and such and got everything set, but the bike wont start. It gets spark, it ran a month and a half ago. Can the gas break down in the carbs that quick?

Yes, it can -and seems to do this regularly with my GS750!!

I last ran mine about 4-5 weeks ago. Went out to her yesterday and she wouldn't start. Good spark but no fuel getting through - even bump starting her didn't work.

So today I took out the pilot jets and blew them through. Refitted the carbs and she started 3rd kick!

might be time to get into the carbs.

I can't be sure, but if you get into the carbs you may find the problem. Sometimes just taking these things appart reveals the problem. As long as you are getting into the fuel system you might as well make sure the tank is clean and the petcock is flowing clean fuel to the carbs.

I've been told that Silkolene Pro-FST should help with the jet clogging problem, so I'll give it a go and see if that helps.
