    Suzuki production numbers revealed!!!!!

For those curious on how many bikes of your specific model rolled off the Suzuki production lines, it's listed on bikebandit.com!!!

Just go to the OEM parts section, choose your bike, and then click on "preface". Scroll to the bottom of this page, and low and behold......... it will list the first frame number from that specific model, and it will list the first frame number of the next model that came out.

    AWESOME!!!!

I find it very interesting only 15,994 1978 GS550E's were made!!!!!

Very cool. I have one of them sitting in my barn, lol.

Actually I took a look at this...it's far less if they went sequentially.

The breaks in the code are by year. Pull the 'preface' for any 77-79 GS550 and you get the same data.

    B - 1977
    C - 1978
    N - 1979

I believe these are correct...so if all the bikes fit into those numbers there, they made only 15994 GS550 in TOTAL from 77-79...unless the last code there was the 'first' serial number to go off, not the last.

I think all of these are the first that rolled off. I say that because the GS550EC is listed as GS550E-100001.

The EC was the first 550 "E" model

I agree, those numbers are the starting point for production.
I highly doubt that Suzuki made 2 million 1000G's in the three years that model was made.

I'm sure the numbers for your 77 750 are there my man!

The sheet listed above is for the 77-79 550's only.

By the way......... I believe the 77 750 is regarded as the "quintessential" GS to have if you are into collecting. It's kind of like having a 69 CB750. So hold on to it!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be interesting to see the numbers made on this classic GS.
