Would anyone tell me some tips that could I use a 79mm copper haed gasket for 78mm piston set if I do not have the right on hand?

I wouldn't use it.
May have a sealing problem.
If it does work it may not last to long.
If the block or copper gasket is o-ringed then that's another problem.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

You can use it & probably you will never know the difference, 1 mm isn't much. But I would never take that chance. Too easy to get the right gasket & too much trouble to change the wrong one if it does fail.Comment

yes, I would to follow your advice. But it is not the case that I can easy to get parts from Hong Kong.
Just think about it. would this great site could provide some parts ordering service or parts modification agent service for oversea GS rider with some reasonable service charge.
