    Will a 1978 GS 500E's pipes fit on a 1983 GS550L?

Hi there I am new to this forum, but an active member of the Sundial Racing Vintage Suzuki 2-stroke forum. My main ride is a 1970 T350 2-stroke cafe racer. I'm Fang there too, But my ::real:: name is Steve.
I have a set of GS550 exhaust pipes for sale on evilBay (click here to see the auction) that I got from my buddy AlexLockhart who used to live on this forum, and now I have a question for the experts. He rode his '78 GS550 over 14,000 miles this summer all over N. America. CLICK HERE to see his amazing travelogue and read his strange stories... He bought the bike for $450.00 just before he left for the trip and used your help to get it ready to go. I am selling his old, stock 4 in to 2 exhaust because I found a 4 to 1 header that we traded before his trip.

Somebody asked me a question and I don't know the answer. Will this 1978 GS550E exhaust fit on a 1983 GS550L?

    Thanks!
    -Fang

You could probably make it fit, but I would have to say NO

The exhaust ports on the '83 engine are smaller than on previous 550s, and closer together.

      Not even close.
