    Rear frame mount shock studs

Does anyone know if the upper rear shock studs that are attached to the frame are removeable, or are they a press/weld in?

    shock studs

Yes the shock studs are welded into the frame. If they are damaged and need repalcement it can be done but the old studs first must be removed.

When I got my bike a couple of years ago one of the rear shock studs was stripped. I cleaned it up with emery cloth and ran the next size standard die over it. Put a standard chrome acorn nut on it and it's held ever since.

The reason for your query is not shown, but if you have one broken for any reason, remember it is imperative that the new one be welded in place accurately.

It will NOT do to simply guess and stick it in place by eye. Any variation in angles will affect performance.
