Tach without a redline. Am I the only one?

Hi,

My tach does not have a redline. Anyone else have same type of tach?

Its an 1983 GS750T

I think the redline starts at 9500.

it's probly just really sun faded. sorry i don't know the exacty redline of the 750.

Looks like its just faded. Redline is 9500. You can see the gap between the 9 and the 10.

Its not faded I looked really close just absent. Any other 1983 GS750 out there with same tach?

Trust us... You may not be able to tell, but it *is* just sun-faded. It's amazing what 20+ yrs. of UV rays will do. Redline is 9500 rpm's.

I have a 1983 GS750 T. I will post a picture of my Tach when I get a chance. Thats not going to be until march 6 or 7. My redline is still red though.

I don't know if I believe the sun faded arguement. Look at the fuel gauge, the red on that looks bright as can be and not faded away as does the needle tips so why the major difference if it is fade???

I think it looks way cool.. I am going to do mine the same, its always parked in the sun...

On the same thread my clocks glow red at night, is this the normal colour. Someoes said they should be green?

My 450 and dad's 850 both glow red. It helps not to kill your night vision.

You logic makes me second guess my memory. I'll definitely have to look at this next weekend. I am still leaning towards mine being red though.

Ok I took a good look at it under good lighting. Threre is no fading of red anywhere. Looks like I got lucky and got the 750 that has no redline!

Going from the picture. There looks like there is just a slight difference in the white. It's brighter from 0 to ~9500, and then a little darker after that. There also looks like a line runs across the white at 9500. If you're planning on whacking it up that far, make it 9 grand, and leave it at that.

Here is another pic of the Bike. Its in really good condition Im polishing the exhaust pipes thats why the no 4 pipe has a white powder on it.
