Arrrghh Tire Shine on my tires... How to remove it!

Speaking of tires my nephew decided to make my bike tires look new and sprayed tire shine all over my bike tires. How do I get that stuff off?

I dont want to have an unscheduled dismount!

I use an orbital pad sander and #60 grit sandpaper. I have a strong aversion to road rash and find it thoroughly unpleasant.

Either of Earl's or Jethro's methods should work. Then, I'd suggest a rotary grinder with a super-coarse abrasive wheel applied firmly to your nephew's backside for at least 30 seconds!

I was going to offer that suggestion, but couldn't figure out how to clean the front tire off as well.

Engine degreaser, I prefer Gunk non-foaming. If you can't find it, kerosene will work. Ride gentle for a little while in case it slicks up the tread, but it will be gone quickly.

I have been cleaning tires with Gunk for years...have never had a dry out problem, etc.

White vinegar should do the trick safely.

Well I scrubbed them with soap and then took it for a nice 10 mile cruise. All gone and they still look great!

Thnaks for all the sugestions. I wanted to try the burnout but dont know how.
