Cheap Source for K&N Pods???

All this recent talk of pods has me thinking of getting a set. I've searched the archives and seen posts that mention them being bought for $100-120 but the cheapest I can find is around $140 (MAW; slightly less than reputable). Anyone have any ideas on cheap sources for these filters??

Otherwise I'll probably go with APE's pods.

K&N's are expensive. And for a reason. Even used ones hold their value because they basically last forever. And they breath more consistantly between filters than other lower cost brands. It makes setup easier. Plus they breathe better (more flow).

This is all infomation I have been told by engine builders. The only experience I have myself with Pods is K&N's. I have never used anything else.

Yeah! Get pods and be miserable like the rest of us! Nothing like questioning if your bike is jetted correctly FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!

Just kidding, I'd go with pods, the advantages definitely outweigh the disadvantages. They aren't cheap anywhere unless you go with EMGO or UNI foam filters. Dennis Kirk can sell you a set of those for less than $40. I'd pay the money for the K&N, cripes, I've seen 'em sell on EBay used for about $60 a set!

Thanks for the replies. The cheapest I've seen the K&N's for was $110 at Freddie Spencer's Racing School (http://www.fastfreddie.com/prodline/html/kits.htm) but the page is old and they don't sell them any longer. $160-180 seems to be the most common price for a set.

I'm tempted to go with the filters sold by APE and Star Racing. If they're 2/3 as good and 1/3 as expensive then they might be worth giving a shot.

Yes, Rob is good, we talked about 20 minutes yesterday.

I bought my EMGO pod filters through CRC2 two years ago...$9 a piece, they're great.
