Looks like a custom made sprocket cover out of anodized aluminum? I would try APE to see if it is thiers.

It is a bearing support plate. it keeps you from tearing the output shaft out of the cases on drag bikes. I think that is an old kosman not made any more PMFR still has one. plus they can be custom made by a bike fabricator pretty easy.

That makes more sense! I've wondered how old-school drag bikes put that kind of horsepower down without destroying thier output shaft especially with offset sprockets.

i just liked the look of the exposed counter shaft, thought it was a support but never seen one like that before.

that is an older gs....if your chain cover is the same as an 80-83 1100 you are in business....sit down before they give you the price...

NO- Imean olderthan that Kat-'78 gs 1000 block is what I'm workn with.It isn't final yet though.I guess i could take another couple weeks and find a newer 1100 block to start from.YEA then i can go even BIGGER than 1238cc!!!

Hey Katman -- did you get pics???
