Sad but true; I'm allways scanning my options so if I run into a good GS engine I'd like to know if it'll fit.

GS 1000 in to GS(X) 750?
Just a thought .... will a GS 1000/2 valve engine fit in an '80 GS(X) 750/4 valve frame?

You'd be much better off looking for a GS(X) 1100 motor. This would only require minor mods. The other consideration is power. The Suzuki 4 Valve head is a great design - your 750's power output is probably very close to the stock 2 valve 1000 motor. A 4 valve 1100 is significantly more powerful than it's 2 valve predecessor. They seem to be more common & parts availibility is better.

Yeah, I know. I'd really like to fit an EFE engine but the 4 valve 1100's are hard to come by (in Holland that is). And like I said, it's just a thought ... :roll:

As threatened, here's some measurements taken from an old set of GS1000 cases.
356mm long (measured between front and rear top motor mounts)
238mm wide (at top front motor mounts}
165mm wide {at top rear mount}
132mm wide (at bottom rear)
298mm wide (at mid bottom)
470mm tall (mid mount to highest point of engine)
280 mm (distance between mid mount & bottom rear mount)
190mm (diagonal distance between mid & top front mount)
All measurements taken from sprocket side.
