GSXR1100 flatsides 34mm

Hello,

I have an opportunity to put some GSXR1100 34mm flatside carbs on my GS1100.

I was readiong flatsides are good, and most guys appear to use 36mm.

I have a basically stock motor, and reckon these may be thing it needs to give it a bit of pepper.

any thing bad about these carbs? or is it a worthwhile thing.

You would see a healthy benefit using these carbs combined with pod filters and a good exhaust. If you are trying to use the stock airbox with them, then you won't notice much difference at all. 34's are plenty for an otherwise stock motor...

yes this helps plenty.

motor only has 4-1 exhaust as only mod.

pods will be fitted and then maybe play with the jetting.

I was searching the other posts on such things too.

Iam totally in the dark as to which carbs are being used on which bike.
I am asking if the gsxr1100 uses flatslides or semi flatslides???

I have used 34mm flatslides off the '86 GSXR1100 on my modified '83 GS750ED since about 1988. I bought them and a set of 31mm flatslides ('86 GSXR750) back then for next to nothing. The 34's worked best on my 750- I was running 802cc with .350 lift cams, pods, and V+H 4-1. They already had a DJ stage 3 jet kit installed. They bolted right up and I was able to use the stock throttle cable.

If you can get them fairly cheap (around $150-$200), they are worth a try. Any more and I would spring the extra $ for new RS carbs.
