Darn close to it Jake. Are you geared for the quarter? If so you should hit a quarter track and find out

I'd love to see what it would do there 8)

      Me too Mark,

      It's gear more toward the 1/4. The ratio is 3.14 with a 14f and 44r. I'll be trying a 46r next time.

I think they would only give me one shot and see how fast it is and then say do you have a IHRA or NHRA licence and I'd say no but I do have the Abilene's Family Zoo Pass

        LOL!

So you need a license? For what?

Or were you just joking about encroaching on their hard earned times?

There is a drag racing licence, setup so people wouldn't get over their heads and get dead. Getting a license is pretty easy from what I've heard, but there is some money behind it. The test amounts to doing some launches, and then doing varied distances until you've done a full 1/4.

Once you got into the 9's in the 1/4 it's a requirement to race. There's probably one for the 1/8 too? I guess it's time to buy a rule book.

Depends on your 60 ft. HP is a bigger factor in the 1/4 mile. With your 109 in the 1/8th. I would say your bike would run in the high 9.80's to low 9.90's in the 1/4 mile. On a 98 ZX9 I went 6.28 in the 1/8th but in the 1/4 it went a best of 9.96. But the bike was 385 lbs and dynoed 153 RWHP. I am 227 lbs. Just a guess no offense, Yesterday at the track my friend Jack went a best of 5.39 @ 140 in the 1/8th. 8.22 @ 177 in the 1/4 mile. 2003 Hayabusa with a Velocity turbo kit. 10" over arm. Rides it to work most days. I fried the GS clutches, not enough static spring pressure.

Heck I weight 230 and on my bike I think were close to 700 pounds. I know a guy that has a Bandit and I think he said his 1/4 mph was 138 or was it 128. Any how 130's should not be a problem. Looks like I need to head down to San Angleo just to find out.

On my lockup i'm using six 41pound springs @ 1 inch, but my mre lockup compresses them to 1 and 1/8 of an inch. My WAG is about 220 static? I still think it need to be lower cause even launching at 5K I can still blow away the slick.

Well it was a guess. I think you need to run the 1/4 and let us know. You could always throw some juice on it and get some MPH on the big end.

                    Closer!!

It's a hard call to make. Too many factors. I think your just going to have to run it and see. Maybe we could start a pool. $5.00 to enter. Closest splits the pot with you. This way you can pay for the trip.

When I was running my old GS street bike with a turbo, I was in the 130MPH range on the 1/4 running mid 10's. I weighed a lot less back then.

That 8.22 @ 177 would almost be good enough to run T/G class.

Turbo Busa's are nice. My 99 Busa with a Hahn kit (outdated by the new kits) was fast. I made about 250 RWHP at 13 pounds of boost on good gas and was really running lean. I never upgraded to larger injectors. 5.70's in the 1/th mile and 8.80's in the 1/4 mile. I sold it a little over a year ago. Think I might build me a MC-Express Turbo Bandit and sell the GS11. Or part it out.

                          Did few changes today,

Swapped out the 44r to a 46r and removed my rear foot pegs so now I have to use the normal pegs for a better tuck position. This should help offset my parachute position and move my body weight forward some.

Got the rear wheel about as far back as I can go now, plus re-adjusted the wheelie bars cause I'll be launching with the front end strap down. One run last Friday I forgot to unstrap the front and the bike had a great 60 ft at 1.40 but at mid track the front end was coming up so I had to back off alittle. This is about the most I can do until I get a longer swingarm.

Swappd out my 1100 ignition advance from my 78 750 parts bike. This one has more advance so I can still set it at 34 degress but when starting the bike's base timing will be about 7-8 degrees. Helps with starting after I'm doing a few hot laps. Last week it was set around 30 degree's so I'll be bumping it back up to 34-35.

Tomorrow I'll be degreeing the cams in to see where they are.

Then Friday it's back to the track to see if I can bust out 110mph and 6.10's. If I keep spinning my tire like last week I'll be removing some springs out of the clutch.

It must of been a full moon on Friday, cause everybody was breaking down and oiling the track.

A rail dragster had a major fuel leak in the lanes when heading toward the water box.

A Jr dragster starting leaking fuel after his burn out.

A few door slammers had problems too. One was on nitrous and blew a rod out of the block.

It was a long night and could only get a few runs in, so instead of one change at a time I was doing two. Upped the springs from 41's to 46's in the lockup and raised the bar wheels 3 more turns.

Did that to see if it was my clutch slipping to much in first gear or the slick spinning all the way through first gear too. From the link below it's looks like the bike is launching better. On that run I ran 6.17 at 109.89

Next change is to try 150 jet's.

By the looks of the pic the front wheel might be 2-3 inches off the ground and was straight as an arrow with a 1.40 60ft. I can almost taste the 110's
