just put a new chain on my 1100e have approx 2000 miles on it and ive adjusted it 3 times already is this normal stretch, how many miles does a chain usually last, is it because its a cheap chain. whats up this chain prolly wont last 10k. my last gs was a shafty so this is new to me .Tags: None

Did you change the sprockets as well? Or are they in good shape? I keep about 1.6" (inches) of slack in my chain while it's on the center stand.
Clean it every 500 miles and use a good chain lube.
If it's NOT an O-Ring or X-Ring chain, then yes it will probably stretch quickly and NOT last very long.

Does not seem like a performance question. Is this going to be another one of those, "it's a crappy chain" stories and then we find out that the sprockets were left unchanged? I think the last time I asked the guy tells me that they left the front on and changed only the rear. Brand new chain shot.
If you did change all three together, I just changed the one on the GSXR at 16K miles. A normal number for me.

Sounds like too much wear if sprockets were chnaged as well. I have over 20,000kms on a non-oring 630 chain, with few adjustments. An oring should last a long time, but a cheap oring will only last as much as a good non-oring usually, from ones I have used.
