GSXR instrument swap on '82 1100E
OK I've decided to take the plunge and do the whole GSXR front end swap. My concern after I do this is how to configure my gauges. I'm assuming that with the front wheel size dropping to 17" I'll be needing a speedo to match. What's the best (easiest) way to go? I haven't purchased any parts yet so I'm wide open to options. Since the tachs on the newer bikes are electrical, I need to be able to wire it to my Dyna S ignition. Any instructions out there?Tags: None

RJ, For the speedo, try using a bycicle comuter. Sigma sport bc 800 model(about $25 at any bike shop). Easy to install, more accurate than stock, and good to 185mph. As for the tach, any electronic tach will work using signal from the coil. Good luck!

For the speedo:
The drive that comes with the 17"wheel is matched for the clocks, and I mean ANY Suzuki clocks. So just connect the cable and you're there. BTW the drives from Yamaha also match the Suzuki clocks, but Kawasakis do NOT match.
For the tacho:
A katana 1100 has an electric tach. Take a look at the electrical schemes as to how this is wired; the GSXR tach will work the same way. I can get you both schemes if you want.
Grtz, Marco.
