GS1000 2-valve mods
Where can I get some stuff for the old 2 valve gs engines. I just picked up a 79 1000 and wanna set it up for drag use at the track. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Gsxrcurt.Tags: None

What are you looking for?
I've got some great high dome MTC pistons for a 1000 2 valve
with tool steel wrist pins, I think they bring the
displacement to 1107 cc with a 11.8 to 1 Compression.
You will need to buy rings.
These are "for real" pistons that will hold up to supercharging,
turbo, nitrous or whatever you want to throw at them.
Let me know,

How fast do you want to go? How much money ya got?
Mo's pistons are a good start, but don't neglect the bottom end.
http://www.faliconcranks.com/ is the place to get your crank done.
You can try here for cams http://www.megacyclecams.com/catalog/catalog.pdf Go to p. 53
Here's a good link for lots of parts
I'm sure there's more, but these should keep you busy for a while

I'd start with a drag only exhaust since it's going to be a drag only bike right???
Then get the carbs jetted right with free flowing air filters.
Change the gearing, go 14 front and 42 or bigger on the rear. You may need to go with a sticker tire.
Go to Wiseco.com they show a piston kit up to 1100cc and all you do is bore the cylinders 3.5mm.
Checkout dragbike.com for used parts
Schnitz racing for new parts
One of the best things you can do is go to test and tune and get down to the basic's and practice, practice.
If your going bracket racing you don't need to do much, but have some fun.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

Thanks for all the help guys. I know how fast u go and the size of your checkbook go hand in hand. Kinda sucks, but I think i'll try bracket racing first so maybe just the exhaust and re-gear, then eventually major engine work. I really appreciate all the help..Thanks!
