    GS650 / GS550 frustration mounts....

So... this spring I went and bought a 650 head, cylinder, and pistons to put on my bike.

Saturday Skreemer and i went about installing said parts on a 550 block we had in the basement. And what should we find? Everything fits. Execpt the piston liners skirts.

The piston liners are hitting something in the crankcase. I can't imagine what. And after spending an hour getting the block to slip over the pistons I dont' have the heart to pull it off yet and investigate.

I'm just frustrated beyond belief that I got this far before I was stopped. And I feel the only solution is to completely disassemble the block and have it machined to clear the piston liners. This also means removal of the studs. And ideally replacement with fresh parts.

I really hate to take things apart when they are already "ok" *sighs*

    Any suggestions?
