I don't think you can just convert 1/4 mile to 1/8. Way too many things to consider.

      Never trust those test reports.

maybe Jake ran his bike stock before doing the mods. he live on the 1/8 mile track

Those times are close, maybe higher or lower. They never say if those number are corrected, the name of the track, the time of year, day or night, temp, track altitude etc. Or is it just done with stopwatch'es

They also never say what rpm they shift at or how much the rider weighs.

Even the GS1100 was rated a high 10.90's bike too.

Give me a real time slip with RT, 60ft, 330ft, 660ft, 1320ft then I'll believe it.

Lots of folks estimate horse power and stuff. But the proof of the puddin is always in the tasting.

              I saw a test of the 85 1150E 20 years ago in a rag.

              126 hp
              10.21 1/4 mile
              150mph top speed

              Your mileage will vary.

Still a scary fast ride you can buy today for about a third of what the new ones cost. That makes it a pretty good deal in my book. And you know your getting a tough as nails motor.
1981 GS650G , all the bike you need
1980 GS1000G Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely

With Skip on my 1150 (when it was his) he got to 6.9 in the 1/8 mile, I think 10.3 was the average on the 1/4 without the nitrous. I never ran the 1/4, but 7.2 was the best I could do on the 1/8.

Heard that! The only reason I said that is because there is most likely even more there if it was dialed in correctly. Any way you look at it, a fast fun beast!

Sweet, except now you don't have that cool smoke screen option. Maybe you should run an oil line to your exhaust just for old times sake.

To my exhaust? I was thinking tie it into the vacuum feed for the petcock. Let's get the full affect man

Good idea, though, I remember having that happen once when my petcock went, and poured gas in the vacuum, oddly, the bike didn't run very well, but I got some great back fires.

ok, forget about oil burning 1150s for a second please and lets get back on topic...

duaneage: 150 mph is 240 km/h, your specs are out of whack, my 750 reaches those speeds without breaking a sweat (ok, i admit it takes a while to get there and shakes like a maraca)...

if you guys all promise to never tell phil (the bike's owner), or my girlfriend, i'll let you in on a little secret...

phil says he had it to 260 before he got scared...

i had it to 220 and it still pulled as if it were going 50 km/h (1/2 throttle only) and im taslking locomotive sort of pull here... remember the main jet hadnt kicked in yet, i dont think i ever rode that bike on the main jet, but i so wish i could try...

well, i decided to keep on pulling, at 250 i ran out of roads/guts/balls/neck/demerit points/eardrums...
i just gave it time, never went above half throttle...

that helmet sure lifts a lot, i still have the strap marks on my neck...

maybe these specs you're all looking at are at the crank and on paper. the dyno says differently, and dynoes vary, remember that...

i do believe however the bike runs rich and could be tweaked, but, hey, not my bike, i ride it as it is (borrowed) and let me tell you, it's too much bike for any sensible human being (if you need to turbo your busa, you ain't sensible)

the scary bit is my 1100 with a 1150 engine pulls even stronger than this bike... gawd, i cant wait to get rid of the flatspotS (that capital S was on purpose)
ill have less top speed for sure (maybe only 100 hp), but i dont care, my comfort speed is 160 km/h, but !@#!@# that bike gives me whiplash on the pilot jet!!!! (i bet it makes over 80 lbs of torx)
when i get it runnign ill post the dyno results, im anticipating a big fright....
