Aftermarket Exhaust for a 1982 Suzuki Katana 1000

Hello folks, I've been dabbling in so many toys as of late that my head is starting to swim. I recently acquired a 1982 Suzuki Katana 1000 in fantastic stock condition with less than 6,000 miles on it. I'm not going to do anything with it other than store the stock exhaust, airbox and carb needles and jets to make way for some bolt-on improvements. I was bidding on a Yoshimura exhaust on Ebay for it; however, I was outbid. I'd like to know what my options are other than Vance and Hines. I'm not really considering the Mac systems so what does that leave me with that will fit? I'd like to get a Yoshimura slip-on canister system for the bike. Will later years GSXR systems fit? ~Gene

1982 Suzuki GS1100E stock with K&N Pod Filters, Stage III Jet Kit and Bassani Competition Exhaust with Rebuildable Baffle (No, you can't have it)

      Vance and Hines

Is the Vance and Hines exhaust for the Katana good? I'm just not sure how it compares performance wise to Yoshimura. Do you run them on your customs? ~Gene

I found a V&H 4-1 street chrome at www.morepoweracing.com for $254.95 for my GS. The rest of the major online shops wanted about $290. I'm no authority, but I think most people use the V&H system because it was the top choice 20yrs. ago, and completes the look and sound of the era. But what do I know, I was 11 when this bike came out.
