Does anyone know for sure which slides are correct for use on a 78 GS1000. I have heard conflicting info. I had some brand new ones, 20 years ago, on a 79 GS1000 but dont remember which ones were in it. Sold them after a year of use. There were 1.5 slides and 2.0 slides...I recently acquired a very nice set that have the 1.5 slides and they came off a KAW. Would like to try them on a 78 GS1000 I recently purchased as it will probably get a 1085 wiseco kit put in it over this winter. I already have the correct intake boots to mount them on. So.....which ones are for KAW, which are for SUZ.......Badbillyb

Mikuni VM33 Smoothbore
If you go to WWW. sudco.com you will see a Mikuni chart. The Kaw jets are different than Suzuki. I don't know much about carbs, but I think it might be worth your time checking it out.

Thanks Big Jay, And thanks for taking the time to post on this forum. I was afraid these carbs were set up for a KAW......Borrowed them from a friend who wasn't using them. Need to find a KAW guy with the wrong slides in his carbs so we can trade......The big block you built me for my GS1000 2v around 20 years ago is still in perfect shape. Theres probably only a handful of them in the world now and I thank you for building it for me, you are a true pioneer and I just wanted to say thanks........BadBillyBComment

The factory service manual says 1.5mm for the VM26SS carbs.Comment
