    MAC exhaust louder....

Alrighty, since I am going to be rebuilding the carbs and most likely rejetting due to some performance problems......I was wondering what I could do to make the MAC exhaust a bit louder than it is now. It does not have any baffleing in it, all it has is two tubes stacked on one another and welded, then an end cap and a "mid cap" to hold it in the can.

So, can I simply dril 3-4 holes in the end cap around the exhaust exit?
I was thinking of starting small and working my up in size untill I was content with it. Would this be the best way to do this?
Do you think drilling the holes would require jetting it differently from having no holes at all (stock)?

Just throwing around some thoughts on projects this winter since I am basically redoing most of the bike.

    Thanks in advance.

Chris, I think that would work. I did the same on my original exhaust befor I switched to the 4 into 1. I used a series of small (3/64") holes probably a dozen. Made a noticable change in tone. Ray
