I run Mac pipes on 2 of my bikes. I have Mac's on my GS450, but I have no point of reference, having never had the stock exhaust on there, but I really like the sound of my gs, sounds meaner than it actually is!!

I also run a set of Mac's on my Yamaha XZ550 (Vision, V-Twin) And have compaired them to Stock, and Supertrapp (on my other Vision) Stock was quiet, Supertrapp is meaty, and the Mac's are just plain loud (2 into 2 system) and I constantly set off car alarms when I go past a parked car. But I must admit, with a slight re-jet, the bike has more zip (espically noticed during take-off) than stock, and even more than the supertrapp.

I have an aftermarket 4-2-1 header on my 550, It has a straight though with a "little" bit of packing around the center baffel. It isn't too loud. Sitting in my garage it's sounds great and requires earplugs if you're going to rev it higher than 4k. On the street it sounds great though
