I believe it was for a 95 GSXR1100. It's the SS2R pipe. I had a lot of problems making it fit. The flange bolt pattern was too narrow (had some new flanges fabed - if anyone needs the data, I'll send it). The pipe also uses exhaust inserts and they are too short. I'm working on putting in the data to have some made on that. Again, I'll share this data if anyone needs it. I had to fit the pipe to be able to make sure the footpegs clear (they do). I've had parts on and off too many times now. I also had to fab an new rear exhaust mount. The mount is now powder coated and looking good.

Thanks for the compliment Billy. The garage is pretty narrow and I can't take pictures with different angles. Maybe this weekend I can wheel her out and take a few.
We are getting close to purchasing a home in the mountains near Bailey and I will probably have to move everything within the next month. That should be a BIG pain. The nice part is - my wife said I could put a 5 stall in after we get settled. Hahahahaha - all mine - all mine. (She has a 2 stall attached already.)

We'll be moving too over the next month. I haven't had room to do much around here. That's why I have parts just sitting waiting to be used. It'll be nice to set up and be able to see what I've got and what to do next. I'll probably split the cases over the winter and have the 750 crank lightened and balanced by APE. If that gets done then I have to bite the bullet and get rocker arms hardened. The Cosworths are going to wake this thing up.
I guess once it's all done I'll be looking for a daily rider.

I leaning towards something more like this. A little time and money to update wheels and suspension and it would be a blast.

Ok, I'm back at it again. I had to take some time off to rebuild a KTM250 for my son. I took a break after that and in the last few weeks I've been observing some pretty nice builds on the forum. It's time to finish this project.
I picked up a GS1150 oil cooler off Ebay, along with the lines. I previously installed an 1150 oil filter cover. Needless to say, like everything on this project, it didn't just bolt up. I fabricated some mounts for the cooler - see pic.
They aren't going to be readily seen so I pussed out a bit on the polishing.
Here is a pic of the cooler mounted. The lubrication system is now complete.
There's a lot of little things, and a few big ones left. I'm leaning toward black for the color. I think I'll remove all of the emblems on the tank and side covers for a stealthy look. That's the current thinking anyway.

Katman, I taught Pops all he knows.
I was at it again tonight, preping the tank. I've decided to loose the emblems and paint the tank flat black. To fill the area where the emblems mount I'm using lead. This is a first for me, but I didn't want to use putty as the fill would be too thick.
I don't have a body leading kit, so here is the procedure so far.
1) wire brush the area that needs filling.
2) Slather some flux on. This is the same flux used by plumbers to solder pipes.
3) Heat the area with a solder gun. (This takes a little effort but it does work.)
4) Fill the intended areas with lead.
5) File down the lead smooth,
6) Add more lead and file if needed.
After I get it leaded properly I use some putty for the final smoothing.
I'll post some pics of the tank when I get the leading perfected a bit.
No emblems on the tank or sidecovers. The goal is not to give the bike away. There will be some second looks to figure it out - I hope.

Rock on Steve
I don't feel like I am the only one in the "longest rebuilds" section anymore
I also look forward to pics. The ones listed for the garage above are not showing up for me right now. I am just getting red boxes. I'll try later, not sure what to make of that.

I'm not sure of the problem either Hoomie - they work for me.
Anyway, my excuse for taking so long is that I rebuit another bike - we'll I'm gonna stick with it anyway.
BTW, I'm glad I did the other bike. It's a 1995 KTM250 and my son rides it every weekend near Twentnine Palms. It's completely rebuilt - the engine has been split and the crank refurbished, new top end, gaskets, seals, etc,; the frame was powder coated; forks rebuit with new oil and dust seal; rear shock rebuilt; new bearings and seals everywhere. I ever preplaced the plastic.
Matt, paid for most of it, I just did the work. I'm cheap labor!
He has so much fun with it that it makes me happy. It's a new '95. 8)
