    horsepower?

my friend and I are discussing the differences in performance from a 77 gs750 and an 82 gs1100l, can anybody tell me the stock horsepower ratings for these two bikes? I keep getting conflicting information that ranges from 75 to 98 for the 82 and I get shrugs when discussing the 77. 75hp seems low for a 1100. any help would be great

Should be at about 100 hp..@ 8,700 rpm...All 1100 motors I found specs for had the same HP for 1982.

But that is bhp measured at the crank, correct? For exapmle, the '82 GS1100E was rated at 102/103 in one report I read. Should put rwhp at about 85 or so for the 1100???

Text messages with my youngest brother Daniel right after he was paralyzed:

Me: Hey Dan-O. Just wanted to say howdy & love ya!

Dan-O: Howdy and Love you too. Doing good, feeling good.

Me: Give 'em hell, Little Bro!

      Dan-O: Roger that!

My 79 gs750L was supposedly 72 hp stock at the crank. I had it on the dyno last fall and she came out at 54 to the rear wheel. That is pretty much bone stock.

I had my 821100e on a dyno years ago with a 4-1 exhaust and jetting with the stock air box and I got 92 at the wheel.

Hate to jack your thread sae. But I have a similar question. I have an 82' gs850l, has a UNI filter, modded airbox, and the stock mufflers replaced with 2 megaphone straight through glasspacks. Just incase(:twisted I wanted to make it faster, someone said I could basically drop in an 1100 motor. What kind of hp number diffrences would their be between mine and say a stock 1100? Would it be better to spend my money on other performance parts?(ignition, possibly turbo?) I'm a huge motor head so I could do either, but I'd like to spend it wisely. Thanks-darren

I would guess that your estimate is close..
