    dyna billit timing rotor

I have a dyna s ignt sys and have a billit rotor with timing marks on it. Mybike is a 1979 gs 750. Do have to use that other timing plate with the spring and rotor ND marked on it or can i just use my new one. I do have the rotor that came with the ignt sys also. and to clearify more i used to have a point system and the timing thing i am talking about has the 1-4 and 2-3 adjustments on it wih springs. also the new billet rotor does too just dont have springs and stuff. Thanks sorry to ramble on

p.s if i cant use this how do i put on the rotor that came with my dyna s ignition system thanks again

You will be removing the points plate where the points and condensors mount. You will need to retain the mechanical advancer unit (that's the unit bolted to the end of the crank that has the springs and arms on it).

You should use 3.0 ohm or great resistance coils with the Dyna-S ignitions. Although 2.2 will work for a while, they are likely to overheat and fail.
