    GS1000 Crank and rods

Ok.. so I looked a falicon and they didn't give much info on my crank. I was just wondering if anyone makes 2 piece rods for an 81 GS1000 if you get the Crank welded? Anybody know?

Yes, the GS1000 crank can be welded. They are first put in a jig and checked for indexing (all rod throws in the correct location), then welded at the seams.

Carillo makes rods for the GS1100 and GS1150, (and possibly the GS1000?). These are one piece that get assembled onto the crank just like the stockers.

You get an 18mm ground rod and insert it thru all of the wrist pin holes at the same time. If it fits, the crank index is OK. If it won't go thru all four, it is twisted.

If it is twsisted, you can send it to Gardner Racing Concepts and get it fixed.

There is no two piece rod available for roller bearing cranks.
