Lower handlebars?
I have a 84 GS550EF, and I'd love to lower the handle bars without buying clipons, does anyone know if this is possible or if there is some adjustment I can make? I'm a tall guy and the stock bars are just way too high for my lower back...Tags: None

There are a lot of new sport tour bikes with riser clipons...some almost 3". You may consider those as an option and a different look.Last edited by katman; 05-13-2006, 12:28 AM.

Or you can get drag bars- they have no rise at all.Currently bikeless

I second the drag bars. It's a bolt on and go mod. Only issue you may have is tank clearance. That is a do it and see issue though.

Sorry I guess I should have made it clear, I don't have actual handlebars now, I have 3" risers, and I want to lower them somehow, maybe to 1" or even just to a clipon height, without actually buying 37mm clipons (100$ for some aluminum bars? Crazy!)

Clip ons
Clip ons from a first generation Honda CBR600 Hurricane are 37mm and you can usually pick them up on ebay for less than $40.

Why not try a pair of Jota bars. Laverda had the good sense to provide fully adjustable bars. I have used them on a few bikes and being adjustable you will in the end find a point that suits you.
