    Real carbs

Just been wondering about this, how many people have dumped the stock CV carbs on the GS's? I'm just wondering because people on CB1100f.net talk about Kehin CR's and Mikuni VM's alot. Just wondering if anyone has them on and what they think of them.

I've got RS flatslides on my bike and love them. Maybe the most bang for the buck you can get.

Billy's got the 34mm carbs. I had the RS38 carbs on my 1150. I would love to get a set of the RS36mm for my 1100, but probably won't, as they are pretty pricey.

Another common upgrade is the semi flat slide CV carbs that came on GSXRs, and others.

VM32BSS are the carbs that came factory on my bike (IIRC), and they're a hassle to find parts for (no "kits" available). GS'ers tend to dump 'em in favor of RS Mikunis.

But maybe we have a new source to sell our VM's to?!!!

(BTW - just scored a FREE set of 34mm flatslides. One has a stuck slide, and the throttle cable retainer is cracked, but nothing that can't be fixed. Yay, me!!!).

          -Q!

Just put RS36's on the Bandit 1200 along with GSXR750 cams. She is a real animal now, coming on hard at 6500 and pulling hard thru 10000rpm. This thing finally runs like it has a GSXR powerplant

Race tech gold valves up front and a WP rear shock will complete it for now. The down side is my '83 750 is still sitting untouched.

              Ride On, Ed.

Put 40mm flatsides on mine and the topend performance is way cool. WOT at 3500 is a bit flat but after 4k it flies.

It's real easy to over rev with RS flatslides. The bike makes power way beyond what it was intended to.

                    How you doin Billy,

The stock cams made max power at 8800rpm- about 100bhp bone stock.

With the short stroke 750 cams, the powerband now goes thru 10,000 with redline at 10,500.

The GSXR cams really open up the top end without killing too much midrange. Saw a similar setup with CV carbs on a Dyno @ 128bhp with the bike making 100bhp at 6500 rpm. And that was without the RS carbs.

Gonna get it on the dyno soon, shoud see 130bhp easily- not bad for a daily rider.

                    See Ya, Ed.
