    Headlight ?'s

I decided I need some real lighting, the ol' sealed beam on the 78 GS1000E just ain't going to cut it.

Other than going to a new 7" headlight kit, or salvaging one from the boneyard, that uses an H4-style bulb and then installing an Osram or Phillips bulb (which one is better - any opinions?), has anyone been able to use the headlight from a newer bike in the existing, older headlight bucket? You know, taken something from an SV650 or Bandit or something? I am really after a better reflector to go with the light.

Oh, no problems with wires melting inside the headlight bucket with the Osram or Phillips bulbs like you might with a 100 watt right?

    Thanks for enlightening me.

I got an H4 conversion off ebay for around $25.00. (Cant remember where) Pops right in. Lots of light even with a stock 55/60 watt bulb.
If thats not enough, pop a Silverstar bulb in the new H4 housing and prepare to be amazed.

I went with a Silverstar on my 1150. Huge difference! The 1000 is next.
