Does Suzuki GS450 tachometer fit and work on a GS650GT?

The tachometer (rev counter) on my GS650GT is quite lazy and does not go above 6000 rpm. Wanted to know if a Suzuki GS450 (1980s) tachometer would fit and work on a GS650GT?

You may want to check the cable. Sometimes the break internally and slip as they reach th point where friction of the two end pieces fails.

Check the cable first as has been said. But yes, the drive ratio is the same 450/650.

I have replaced the cable and it has made no difference. There are a few used GS650 tachometer around for sale, but how well these work is questionable, hence was looking at other (new old stock) tachometers that could fit.

Thanks for this link, but way too expensive at £400.
