Easy for me to say, but you might want to get an Earl's cooler. Attach to the oil take-off ports, just below the oil filter cavity. And get an 1150 oil filter cover. That would be a righteous install.Ed

I've ridden GS's all over California & Nevada in temps past 100 degrees & dealing with Los Angeles local traffic in those temps too. Only once did I ever get any real sort of "heads up" that it was getting hot & that was the 1000G. I was stuck in a stop & go jam in downtown LA with no room to split the traffic. Temps were well over 100 that day. The idle raised by about 200-300 RPM. It was fine once it cooled down.
I don't think you need a cooler for road work. I actually think you'd probably want a thermostat in the cooler for the opposite problem when it's colder if you fit one....1980 GS1000G - Sold
